Payment
- A 50% deposit is due at booking and secures your place in the queue. The remaining 50% is due before I deliver the final files. Payments will be made through previously agreed arrangement (I currently accept ko-fi, zelle, venmo, and cash-app.)
- Please note that because I am a ‘starting business’ such transactions are more likely to ding fraud-prevention algorithms. Fixing this is usually just a matter of reassuring your bank that yes, you did mean to make that payment. If you’re having problems, please be patient, contact me, and we’ll figure something out.
- I do NOT accept mobile checks.
Revisions
- While revisions are technically unlimited at the sketch stage, there are limits. If you continually change your mind or otherwise request changes that require substantial rework or (heaven forbid) starting from scratch, then I reserve the right to ask for additional payment.
- Once you have approved the sketch and I have begun rendering, major changes will no longer be accepted.
Turnaround
- Standard estimated turnaround is usually two to six weeks, depending on job complexity and the queue (although I will close for submissions before that grows too bad). The clock starts (so to speak) once the contract is signed and payment has been received.
- I will let you know of any delay that might affect a timely delivery.
Content policy
- No hate symbols, harassment content, or depictions of real non-celebrities without their consent.
- While I do accept NSFW commissions, what constitutes ‘acceptable’ is in the eye of the beholder, so let’s discuss scope and subject matter first.
- On that note: I reserve the right to decline a commission for any reason.
Cancellations & Refunds
- If you cancel before I’ve begun work: full refund of your deposit, minus payment processing fees. (Payment processors don’t return their fees to me when I issue a refund, so I can’t pass them back to you.)
- If you cancel after I’ve begun sketching: I will keep the deposit as a kill fee. Any unfinished artwork remains mine.
- If I haven’t heard from you in 30 days despite my attempts to reach you, I’ll treat the commission as canceled under the terms above.
- Once you’ve paid the final 50% and I’ve delivered your files, the sale is final.
- If I am unable to complete a commission for any reason that is not related to client behavior, you will receive a full refund, including any processing fees.
- Bad clients: if the project cannot continue because of poor behavior on the part of the client, I reserve the right to cancel the project and keep the deposit as a kill fee. (Please note that I’m talking about really bad and malicious behavior. I have never once had to actually do this, and hopefully never will.)
Usage rights & licensing
- The default rights usage is assumed to be personal-use for posting on social media (with credit), gaming/tabletop use, and marketing & promotional uses.
- These rights do NOT include resale rights or commercial rights (i.e. is the art going to be on something that will be sold? Then that’s not personal use.) Note that commercial use rights are available. Just ask.
- Book covers, t-shirts, and other for-sale promotional licenses are considered commercial licenses.
- Layered source files are only included with commercial licenses.
- Work for hire: contact me for a custom quote.
- AI training: Absolutely not. You may not use the artwork, in whole or in part, to train, fine-tune, or prompt AI image-generation models, regardless of license tier.
- I reserve the right to post in-progress and finished work to my portfolio and social media. If you don’t want me to do that, please let me know.
Other odds and ends
- I work digitally in Rebelle 8, usually on hot press paper. If you want a different sort of surface, let me know before we reach the render stage. If you don’t want any paper texture at all (which happens) also let me know so I can send you the correct files.
