FAQ
How do I commission you?
Fill out the form on my Contact page with a description of your character or project and what you’re planning to use it for. I’ll reply with a quote and timeline, and once you’re happy with those, I’ll send a short contract and a deposit request.
How much does a commission cost?
Character art prices depend on the size (portrait, half body, 3/4 body, or full body) and the finish (line art, flat color, or full render). The Pricing page has the full table and add-ons. Book covers, maps, book layouts, and other illustrations are priced per project, so I’ll give you a quote.
How do I pay?
All payments go through Ko-fi. You pay a 50% deposit to book your slot, and the remaining 50% is due before I deliver the finished files.
How long will it take?
Most commissions take two to six weeks from booking, depending on complexity and how many projects are ahead of yours. That estimate covers the time the work is with me, so quick replies at the sketch stage help keep things moving.
What should I send you?
Send as much detail as you care about: appearance, clothing, gear, personality, and pose. Reference images help enormously. If you have a fan casting in mind or want a particular art style, send pictures of those too, but be aware that the pickier you are about fan casts or art styles, the more likely it is to raise the cost. (It’s just more work…sometimes a lot more work…)
Can I ask for changes?
Yes. Revisions are unlimited at the sketch stage, so we can work back and forth until it’s right. Once you approve the sketch and I start the final rendering, major changes are no longer possible.
What files will I receive?
You’ll get a high-resolution, print-ready CMYK PDF at the agreed size (note that my default is 4000×3000 pixels), plus an RGB JPEG or PNG for screens. If you’d like a separate PNG of your character on a transparent background for social media posts and ads, add the Character Mask option for $15.
Can I use the art for my book, stream, or merch?
Every commission includes a license for personal use and digital promotion (social media, websites, newsletters, and online ads) with credit to the author (me). Book covers, merchandise, and anything else that will be sold require a commercial license, so contact me for a quote.
Can you draw a character from an existing game, show, or book?
Yes, for personal use. I can’t sell a commercial license for art of a character someone else owns, since those rights aren’t mine to sell.
Do you accept NSFW commissions?
I do, within limits. Let’s discuss the scope and subject matter before you book. I reserve the right to decline any commission.
Can I get my commission faster?
A rush option moves your project to the front of the queue for an additional 100% of the base price, but please note that the service may not be available if someone else has already paid for rush services.
Will you post my commission online?
I may include finished commissions in my portfolio and on social media. If you’d rather I didn’t, please tell me when you book.
Where can I read the full details?
Everything is spelled out on the Commission Terms page, including cancellations, refunds, and usage rights.
